Dear Grand RP Team,
more than a week ago I was falsely banned because of a suspicion of cheating. I have tried to resolve the unbanning issue in the background via the Chief Administrator of Server DE04. Until today, unfortunately, I do not receive any answer, so now I write the request in the forum.
First of all, I would like to show you my activities on the server. I am doing pure RP with my character Dr. Roland Smith on the server DE04. I am neither in a family nor in a gang and I am not involved in any gambo, let alone interested in it. My activities on the server consist almost exclusively of conducting psychotherapies with patients, since I act as a doctor in psychology on the server and, in addition, acutely research the socio-culturally weaker milieus (currently a research report on the subject was in progress, which can be confirmed by the orga-administration).
I am in close contact with the orga-administration of server DE04 and also the orga-administration will be able to give you at least the same information about my activities on the server. Just considering my activities on server DE04 with my currently banned account Dr. Roland Smith, the accusation, that I would use cheats, is simply not logical. In de facto terms the use of cheats would not give any advantage to my activities. Consider, that this description of my activities and the logically contradictory accusation of cheating, can be confirmed by many admins, not only from the orga administration, but not from those who have the strict assumption to accuse me of cheating. These admins, which have falsely imposed the punishment, know nothing about me and do not even consider it necessary to include the opinion of admins in their decision, who are almost daily in contact with me and know me very well.
Now to the accusation that I would cheat and the alleged evidence.
I have been accused of using my main Discord account to stay on a Discord server that sells cheats. This information is correct. However, the intention that I am accused of, that I bought software on this server and used it afterwards, is not correct. I explained to the admins of server DE04 that the reason why I was on this server is purely informative. Since I am with my Discord account on different Grand servers (FIB, PD, and also the Grand server itself), I could find out so quite simply, which people are also on this cheat driving server, since this "cheat server" is listed under the common servers then. That was the informative intention behind my stay on this server. This action was also agreed with the FIB leadership of server DE04.
I can understand the suspicion of the admins due to this stay on such a server and the measure of the PC check. So it happened that two admins approached me ingame at some point and told me to come to the waiting room of the Grand Server. When the admins Loui Sana and Kjell Northfaze IC approached me, they did not announce a PC check. They told me that I should come briefly into the waiting hall, which has been a frequent occurrence for me since my corruption application (This was rejected in the forum, but still accepted to prevent metagaming). The fact that I had to leave in a few minutes was due to private reasons and could not be postponed. Important is: No PC check was announced by the two. When I came back and found myself in the waiting room, I still knew nothing about the check and accusations.
During the PC Check, I was accused of cleaning my PC from cheats. I explained to the PC checkers that I had reset my PC once, I think on 12.05.2022, due to ingame voice problems, because other solutions did not solve this problem. Further, the statement was made by the admin Loui Sana that he had never seen such a well-cleaned PC. In vain I explained to him that it was solely because no cheats, which is what he is looking for, was used by me. I don't know much about PCs and I don't understand how, after my PC seems to have been thoroughly checked, I am still suspected of having used cheats. I gave the two PC checkers full access to my PC and also had my browser history checked, which I didn't think was okay at the time, but still allowed as part of the check.
This misjudgment of the admins is simply due to a fundamental attribution error. The initial suspicion, triggered by my stay on this Discord server, led the admins to perform the PC check and all further measures strictly under the assumption that I must definitely be a cheater. What is not done, however, is to look at the external factors and circumstances. I explained why I was on the server. It was explained that nothing at all was found on the PC, because there was never anything on it that even goes in the direction of cheats. Even my private situation was described to put them in the picture. And in order to lead the accusation to absurdity, I have also brought up a completely clear, almost irrefutable proof, which is unfortunately also ignored in the assessment. If we assume that it is true that 1. I would use cheats and 2. I would be able to clean my PC perfectly down to the smallest detail (premise 1+2 -> conclusion 3 = I am a cunning cheater), then you also have to think this thought further and ask yourself the question 4. why someone like that buys cheats with his normal Discord account and 5. doesn't bother to use a second account for the purchase? Thinking further, one could then come to the conclusion 6. (premise 4+5) that the stay on this server must have had another reason and the clean PC is therefore clean because nothing like cheats was ever used.
If one would follow the principle of Occam's razor, which says that of several possible sufficient explanations for one and the same state of affairs the simplest theory is to be preferred to all others and a theory is simple if it contains as few variables and hypotheses as possible and if these are in clear logical relations to each other from which the state of affairs to be explained logically follows, the insinuation of a pure RP player of cheating and perfectly cleaning his PC like no other, while using his main discord account for buying cheats, which is on different Grand servers, one concludes that it is a heuristically more improbable explanation than that the PC is clean because cheats were never used.
Finally the accusations do not make sense from the point of view of the pure activities on my part on the server and also the alleged proofs are not logically comprehensible as presented. The sanction was imposed out of a feeling, not out of rational arguments. The statements from the PC checkers were recorded and can also be demonstrated if required. I insist on being unbanned.
It's one thing to be certain, but you can be certain and you can be wrong. Never forget.
