History
Rusty Trombones were founded in 1945 by José Rusty, a Portuguese boxing fighter who emigrated to Los Santos in the early 1920s in search of a better life and become a National Champion in the following decade.
During the first years, José was struggling…the only thing he was good at was fighting so he decided to invest all his remaining money buying a small space where he would be able to train and organize boxing fights. This place quickly became popular among the Portuguese community and all of a sudden, José’s Boxing Club was one of the busiest and most known places in Los Santos.
5 years past and one night, a Portuguese woman wanted to participate in a fight. None of the guys wanted to fight her but José couldn’t say no to a fight and he was curious about this woman fighting skills. They went to the boxing ring and 2 rounds later José was Knocked Out. The woman’s name was Palmeda Camila, a Portuguese woman that worked as a seamstress in a textile factory in the city.
José couldn’t believe what happened and asked Palmeda to start training with him everyday. 2 years later, José and Palmeda married and had 1 child, named Tiago Paiva.
When Tiago was around 20 years old, the boxing club was probably one of the busiest (if not the busiest) place around the city and his father, José Rusty, was respected by the majority of the community.
Despite the boxing club's success, Tiago’s family never lived a life of luxury and that was something that bothered him.
One night, while José Rusty was on his boxing club chilling and watching some fights, a group of random guys entered the club demanding a fight. They were clearly drunk and José told them he wouldn't allow anyone who was drunk to participate in a fight. This led to a big fight and suddenly, out of nowhere, a gunfight erupts.
Unfortunately, José Rusty was caught in the middle of the gunfight and couldn't resist the wounds. He died that night.
A few hours later when Tiago knew about his father's death, he was in shock. He couldn't believe what happened and all he could feel was anger.
2 weeks past and Tiago finally got over his father's death. Palmeda didn’t want to continue with the boxing club because the place would bring her bad memories but Tiago decided to take control of the boxing club and continue his father legacy.
However, Tiago didn't simply want to continue his father's work...he wanted to take it to the next level and live a luxury life, so, he used the club’s popularity as an opportunity to expand his reach, influence and power.
Tiago gathered with guys that were everyday in the club and convinced the majority to start working with him.
That was the moment the Rusty Trombones Family was born under Tiago Paiva’s Leadership.
Goals/Objectives
Rusty Trombone's goal is to become the one of the biggest and strongest family/Organization in Los Santos while being able to make money from both legal and illegal ways and provide a better life to all of our members.
Business Model/Family Operations
The primary focus at the start will be acquiring more legal businesses and underworld businesses like, gambling, fight clubs, money laundering, weapons trafficking, contract murder and money loans.
We have a clear distinction between those 2 sides, which means that a member that operates in the "legal side" will not be able to participate in the illegal operations unless it is a higher up.
On the legal side, we have members that provide income by working in regular day jobs (farm, construction, taxi, etc), by working in State Organizations such as EMS, LSPD, USSS, LI and NG, and also by managing the family businesses, personal businesses and other small operations like flipping houses, cars and other rare and luxurious items.
On the illegal side, we have members that belong to gangs and will provide income by robbing guns/ammo from targets in the ghetto and outside the city (Sandy Shores and Paleto), by flipping and selling illegal items on the black market and also by selling drugs/guns/ammo.
We will also occasionally do bank heists or store robberies if our balance is getting low.
Code of Conduct
- Respect every member of the family and admins.

- Snitching is absolutely prohibited.
- Do not break server/city rules.
- Do not embarrass the family’s name or reputation.
Ranking Structure
- Comandante – Head of the family
- Coronel – 2nd in Command. Trusted member responsible for the negotiation of new businesses and partnerships. Also responsible for the higher ups promotions.
- Tenente – A trusted, loyal and a long time member that shows leadership skills. Takes care of the distribution/sale of weapons and ammo for family members. Can replace the Coronels when they are not present and lead events. Responsible to find new businesses opportunities and partnerships.
- Sargento – A loyal and trusted member responsible to help new members on how to work on family jobs and ensures that every member knows and follows the city/family rules. This member can also replace the rank Tenente and sell guns and ammunition to members and take the lead on family events. Sargentos are also responsible to organize and create shooting/formation/tactics trainings in arena with the other family members. Can also help with the search of new businesses and partnership.
- Furiel – A trusted member that already showed loyalty/responsibility towards the family. This rank is responsible to take care of the recruitment of new members and to teach them the family/city rules and all the family structure and tasks.
- Cabo – Active member that shows commitment to the family. Helps the rank “Furiel” with the search of new members. Can work on family businesses and get paid for that. Responsible to teach the new members all the city/family rules and to teach them the family strategies on events.
- Soldado Principal – New member that has already shown some commitment and some leadership skills. Responsible to help new recruits and give them introduction to the city/family. Can show up on family events and can request guns/ammo for the events. This rank can also help with the recruitment and training of new members. Can also work on family businesses and get paid for that.
- Soldado – New member that has already shown some work and commitment for the family. Can participate in family events and request guns/ammo for that. Can work on family businesses and get paid for that but still needs to prove his effort to the family.
- Recruta Principal – The truly first rank in the family. This member is the one doing the labor force for the family. This member is the frontline in guetto and family events. Can work on family businesses and be paid for that.
- Recruta – The first rank in the family. This member is still on trial and it’s not yet considered a true family member. Once he proves that he understands family/city rules, he will get promoted. Can work on family businesses but will not be paid for that.
