Introduction
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is a federally funded intelligence agency, and is the prime source of investigative resources for the U.S. Department of Justice. Currently, the FBI is responsible for more than 200 federal crime categories, and boast the widest authority and jurisdiction of any federal law enforcement firm. It’s motto is “Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity.” In 1908, the Bureau was born as a force of Special Agents, which was created by Attorney General Charles Bonaparte during Theodore Roosevelt’s presidency. The agency became known as the Bureau of Investigation, and was re-named as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in early 1935. At it’s outset, the Bureau of Investigation predominantly recruited men who had prior experience in law enforcement.
Purpose and General Duties
With the rising crime rate in Los Santos, the State department is often overwhelmed with calls. They often don't have the time or the manpower to do a full investigation on all the crime that occurs in the city. That’s where the FBI comes in, to do a full investigation on felony crimes and all parties involved. These crimes include bank robberies and murder of Leo/federal officers. In the time between these robberies Agents will be able to conduct surveillance operations to find big dealers and compile enough evidence to take them down. The FBI will also keep a close eye on the flow of class 2/3 guns into and around the city. Again compiling enough evidence to arrest and prosecute the big dealers. The FBI will also do full investigations on murder/attempted murders of any Leo in the city and bring those criminals to justice. It's not unusual for a case to be open for weeks as more evidence is collected to put these criminals away for years behind bars.
