The story about Colombo family begins in 1956 in Mexico City. A pretty quite city, that the cartel took over and rules it.
Mrthe Colombo , young man that lived there and managed his family's 24/7 store, was quite a good guy that learned how to live and get along with the cartel that rules the area.
Marthe used to pay them protection so they won't destroy his place and won't rob him and basicly, protect him from themselves.
July 2, 1970, the day that the story begins. Marthe missed the payment day and asked for extension, he didn't have where to get the money from, to pay them for the protection. The cartel, as a reply for this, burned his store.
Marthe didn't know what to do, he was so angry about this situation that he dedcided to gather all of his childhood's friends and make a group of opponents to the Cartel that their main target was to get control back on their city.
Marthe's group built of 15 people that he trusts. At the begining of the rebellion, their first act was to kill patrol cars of the cartel that used to drive around the city and watch for anything suspicious. They used to buy weapons from the black market and gather well before they did what they did.
Marthe's group took down about 5 patrol cars that includes 3 cartel members in each car, to get the head of the cartel's attention. He started to look for information about Marthe's group and offered 50,000$ to the person who can bring Marthe alive to him. Marthe understood that it is serious and there isn't an option to regret or to fall back now, everyone knew that. When they heard about the reward on Marthe's head, Marthe thought they will leave him and escape when they can, but, instead of that, more people asked to join his group and take part of the defeat of the cartel. Marthe thought about a name for his group, then his closest friend, Tekashi , told him, "Colombo needed to be remembered".
After few months of fighting the cartel, Marthe's group has managed to deafet the cartel. Although Marthe's group won, many good people died during the fighting, including, Marthe's best friend, Tekashi. Marthe decided to name the group that became a family, "Colombo Family" in order to perpetuate his best dead friend, Tekashi.
After the cartel collapsed, when everything seemed to be good, new problems popped up, the police has classified "Colombo" group as highly dangerous criminals.
Therefore, "Colombo" family has realized that they must relocated, they chose to move to the big city, Los Santos, in order to keep doing what they classified as, insead of being prisoners. Now, they arrived to Los Santos and they are beginning their new journey.

3. To take control on many businesses in Los Santos in order to earn money for the family so we can provide them high quality living and secure.
