History:
In the 1960s–70s, two Chicago gangs, the Black Disciples (led by Jerry McLovin) and the Supreme Gangsters (Jordie McLovin) joined forces to form the Black Gangster Disciple Nation, sometimes abbreviated to BGDN.
Over time, the new gang spread across the US. According to an FBI report, the Black Gangster Disciples were active in Memphis in the 1980s. Yet, as the group was growing, so was it splintering. The Black Gangster Disciples split into a number of factions, including the Black Disciples (BD) and the Gangster Disciples (GD). The different sects technically remained affiliated under the Folk Nation alliance of gangs, rival to the People Nation, both based in the Chicago area. That did not, however, stop Black Disciples from fighting with Gangster Disciples.
The Gangster Disciples gained national attention when a member who was also in the US Air Force killed an Army Sergeant during a gang initiation ritual in 2005. The gang is known for its use of the Star of David (in reference to original co-founder David Barksdale) and pitchforks as their symbols. Other related offshoots include the Spanish Gangster Disciples (SGD) and Insane Gangster Disciples (IGD).

Ranking:
King:
As a King you are a highly trusted member of the Family and are given the responsibility of taking control in events(Store Robberies, Informal Events, etc…). The Kings are completely trusted with the Family and only respond to orders from the Boss and Underboss.
King’s right hand:
A King's right hand is a highly trusted member of the family and their job is to assist the king in anything they need whether it be taking a team or sorting out businesses, This rank is usually in charge of all the Business and other things the King is too busy for.
General:
A general is a trusted member of the family and their main role is to make sure that all the new recruits know their roles and know the rules. As a general you will be entrusted to enforming all of the lower ranks about event rules and such This is the first rank of High Command every rank above General is high command.
Sergeant:
A sergeant is a member of the family that is gaining trust and they are mainly those who show up to events regularly and show dedication to the family.
OG:
An OG is someone who is not yet trusted but is a set member of the family. The rank of OG consists of those who show up to events and show promise to the higher ups
Hustler:
A hustler is a member who shows they are dedicated to learning the rules of the family and city. This rank consists of those who show they are interested in becoming a more firm member of the family.
Youngin:
A youngin is a new recruit to the family who is not trusted but is still being taught. This rank consists of those who are either new or show little to no dedication to the family.
Outfit: Our outfit consists of GD pants with skulls, and any white hoodie.
The main rule is to not draw unnecessary attention to the family and organization.
