The Early Years
Born to immigrant parents, raised in the new homeland, the rolling hills of Tennessee. Father and Mother escaped persecution from the warring factions in Europe in 1939
Cov taught Ni to hunt, Fish, And proper use of a firearm. Generally speaking, Ni had a good average upbringing, the lower middle class didn’t have fancy things growing up.
Teenage:
Through the encouragement of his father, Ni studied hard in high school and while he was not a perfect student, he managed to get high passing marks in every class except for advanced mathematics. While Cov was supportive and proud, Mihaela on the other hand was so upset that her child couldn’t get an A in Math he didn’t speak to him for three months and acted as if he did not exist. This has never left Ni and still affects him to this day.
Military Academy:
After Highschool Ni was applied and was accepted to West Point Academy where he worked hard and planned to study to become a lawyer with the intention to proceed to the JAG corps. Just after graduation in 1971, he was stationed at Bethesda naval station however Ni was stricken with severe pain in the groin and dysuria. Ni attempted to suffer in silence for more than a week but he was found nonresponsive in his off base housing. He was found to have early onset of pancreatic cancer and was treated at the Walter Reed Medical Center receiving chemo and radiation therapies. This lead to Ni’s current baldness as the hair on his head never grew back.
After several months of intense therapy and hospital stays, Ni was finally cleared of any form of cancer to be devastated by the news that the US Navy and chosen to issue him a medical discharge and released him from duty.
Ni traveled back to Ooltewah Tennessee and spend a couple of years living with and taking care of his elderly parents. One day Ni was driving them into an appointment at Erlanger Hospital Medical Tower for routine visits when their car was struck at a high rate of speed by an impaired driver. Cov and Mihaela succumb to the injuries sustained in the wreck. Both of Ni’s legs were broken and he had to relearn to walk.
Ni blamed himself for the accident that took his parent's life, he began smoking and drinking to cope with the guilt and pain. He felt that it was his fault for taking a less congested route and had he took the main road that his mother wanted, she and his father would have been alive.
Haunted by the thoughts and memories of his parents, Ni was on the verge of giving up. Ni eventually forgave himself and blamed the actual criminal, the drunk driver. But he wanted out of that small town, away from the memories, the pain, and the ghosts of the past.
1981-
Ni moved to Liberty City and bought a small apartment with the profits of the sale of his parents’ farmstead. He attended University for law with a double course load and became a member of the Liberty State Bar Association in 1983.
1984-2010
Ni obtained a position at the District Attorneys' office and worked as a Criminal Prosecutor vigorously prosecuting the criminals of the State of Liberty.
During this time he met and fell in love with an officer of the LCPD, Rachel Majestic.
2001
Ni and Rachel were married and shortly after they found out they were expecting.
2002
Rachel goes into labor and Ni rushes her to the hospital, where after 14 hours of labor their healthy daughter Christal was born.
2010
Ni is appointed to the bench of the superior court of Liberty City as a criminal trial judge.
Ni took this appointment very seriously and was a stern but fair judge. He ruled with compassion for both victims and offenders alike assuring that the punishment fit the crime as the law would allow.
2014
Ni was appointed to the State Supreme Court for the State of Liberty where he would oversee appeals and listen to possible state constitutional arguments.
2019-Present
A case of a very high-ranking member of a crime syndicate in Liberty City landed on his docket for an appeal. However, Ni denied hearing the appeal due to no legal reasons to allow for an appeal and the allegations in the complaint had no evidence and could not be proven.
The criminal syndicate did not see it this way, and before Ni had left the courthouse, the thugs had gone to Ni’s family home and killed his wife Rachel and their daughter to send a message to the rest of the judiciary and law enforcement.
When Ni arrived home LCPD and the Medical Examiner were already on-scene. Ni was devastated.
First his career in the Navy, Then his Parents, Now his wife and 17-year old daughter, everything he truly loved and felt passionate about had been taken away from him. He lost what he felt was meaning in life.
He wanted to seek vengeance, he wanted to hurt those that had hurt his girls. LCPD had to restrain him at the murder trial of the one man apprehended and remove him from the courthouse. No charges were filed, but out of embarrassment he resigned the bench and robes, sold off the apartment, and moved to Los Santos in 2021.
Doing odd jobs around the city just to keep his mind occupied he eventually found a recruitment poster for the Department of Corrections and felt he was ready to resume giving back to his community and take an active role in the justice system again.
Philosophy
Ni believes in what is right. Everyone he comes across or meets is a friend or brother to him until given a reason not to be. He is willing to overlook certain minor infractions if someone is being respectful to him.
Ni Hates Paperwork and will attempt to do as little as possible, this has the effect of avoiding situations or actions that will cause him to do paperwork.
Outcomes -
1. Does not Fear Easily, while not having a death wish he is not afraid of death and will stare down the barrel of a gun and tell the holder to pull the trigger. Routinely fuels his vehicle in the ghetto. (up to 1v3 without becoming frightened)
2. Loyal to the law and justice system to a fault (will never be able to be bribed, coerced, or convinced that the law is bad or to commit a felony himself. {however, he will overlook certain crimes, see outcome #3}
3. Is by nature and upbringing respectful and kind-hearted (If someone shows Ni respect he will return it in abundance, this applies to criminals/Suspects/inmates to the point where he will look over small infractions and give some liberties to inmates/suspects/criminals for good behavior but will not allow them to commit heinous crimes or escape.
4. Is addicted to Cigarettes and must smoke one every two hours or more or becomes easily agitated and his 'Give a Damn' Becomes Broken
5. Will use Lethal force to defend his fellow man however will be hesitant to do so and give multiple opportunities for a subject to halt actions and deescalate the situation if possible.
