As far as I know, bringing religion/political discussion in CC's punishment is 30 days Ban. Please correct me if I am mistaken regarding this information. reference | threads/674358

[both are celebrating victories, one political and the other religious (Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness"/Wikipedia), I am curious why one got 30 days ban and the other one is only getting 7 days, since I feel like this could be a bit biased.

Personally, I want to say that for you, it's a festival. Posting about this can be hurtful, as it's an emotional time for many. If people are banned for expressing their joy during what is one of their happiest moments, that’s very unfortunate!
