GERMAN:

Feedback zur Abschaffung von Third-Party-Tools (z. B. Google Sheets)

• Erlaubte Nutzung strukturierter Tools (z. B. Google Sheets)
• Organisationseigene Discords

Feedback on the Removal of Third-Party Tools (e.g. Google Sheets)

I would like to express my serious concerns regarding the decision to prohibit the use of third-party tools such as Google Sheets.

For many years, the state system has relied heavily on these tools—some provided by the server itself, others created and maintained by players. These sheets are not optional extras or temporary solutions; they are deeply embedded in the roleplay of state organizations. Every organization uses multiple sheets on a daily basis (often 5–10 or more), and many of these documents have been passed down through generations of leadership. They are part of the organizational structure, internal workflows, and long-term RP continuity.

This change has made daily operations within organizations unnecessarily complicated and significantly more exhausting, while providing no clear benefit.
• No one was harmed by these tools
• No one was put at risk
• There have been no relevant issues or complaints for years

From a player’s perspective, it is therefore very difficult to understand why a functioning and well-established system is suddenly being removed.

Third-party tools like Google Sheets have existed for decades and are standard practice in almost all communities and organizations. They were accepted and used without issues for years. This recent decision, however, has led to growing frustration among players, much of which is now being directed at server management—even though this situation feels entirely avoidable.

Instead of further restricting organizations, the more constructive approach would be to expand the platform:
• Allow structured use of tools such as Google Sheets
• Permit organization-specific Discord servers
• Potentially even allow custom Discord bots for management purposes

Give organizations the space to organize themselves properly and to develop their roleplay in ways that have not been possible before. This would not weaken the server—on the contrary, it would strengthen engagement, structure, and long-term player motivation.

I sincerely hope this decision will be reconsidered and that this feedback will be taken seriously.

After further consultation:

Google Sheets and Google Docs are not prohibited in general. This was a miscommunication, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

The use of dispatch centers is not affected by this decision and remains prohibited.
Alternatives are currently being explored, and suggestions can be submitted via the advisors.

Furthermore, each organization is provided with a Discord server supplied by the administration.
Other Discord servers are not permitted and are considered out-of-character (OOC).

For the time being, there will be no changes to the regulations regarding Discord bots.
