Hello, I am requesting to appeal the punishments issued to me for Mercy Killing and UB Demands.
Mercy Killing:
The player I shot was already unconscious and visibly glitched underneath a vehicle. I did not engage in combat or repeatedly shoot them. I fired a single shot in what I had believed was an attempt to resolve a bugged situation. There was no intention to gain any advantage or bypass RP mechanics. I now realise that the correct action would have been to wait for EMS or to report the issue right away to in game admins. I would also like to add that this is my first time being involved in a situation like this. I have not previously shot or killed another player in an RP scenario, and was not fully aware of how serious mercy killing is within the rules, to the point I had to ask an admin what "MK" meant after the punishment was issued. Additionally, I was not the aggressive player in this situation. The same player had chased me down the highway and repeatedly rammed me with a vehicle before this had occurred.
I would also like to add that the player I had "mercy killed" did not use a microphone at all, and only communicated through text by calling me a "bitch", which made it difficult to properly engage in roleplay or understand their intentions during the situation. This contributed to the confusion at the time and made it harder to handle the situation in a fully roleplay-appropriate way.
I respectfully ask for reconsideration on this punishment, as this was a single, non-malicious action in an unusual and confusing situation.
UB Demands:
The individual had approached us and when asked what he wanted his reply was "I'm coming for you", which I interpreted as a direct threat. Based on this, I drew my weapon and issued a demand for him to leave the area. This was not a random or UB demand, but a reaction to a clear verbal threat and close proximity. I did not initiate aggression without reason, I only responded to what I believed was an imminent threat to myself and my partner. I believe this situation aligns more with defensive RP instead of unbased demands, and I would appreciate a review of the footage with this information in mind.
To provide further context to this situation, It involved multiple rule violations from the two players. One of the involved individuals returned to the scene after being killed, which goes against NLR and revenge rules, and then continued interacting in the same situation even though they are supposed to forget what had happened and also not return to combat for at least 15 min. also there was an incident with EMS where they had hit the EMS employee which is against GR 6.5.
I am not raising this to compare punishments but to provide full context as the situation had already escalated into unrealistic situation.
