Complaint Regarding the Disadvantage of Media Families on DE01

Hello Lebron,

I would like to raise concerns regarding the current situation and treatment of Media Families on DE01, as I believe that the recent developments are becoming increasingly problematic and are negatively affecting both the Media Families and the server environment as a whole.

1. Restrictions on Event Payouts

Initially, Media Families were no longer allowed to distribute event rewards at their own discretion. Instead, fixed limitations were introduced regarding the maximum amount that could be paid out. Over time, these restrictions have become even more severe.

For example, during 40-player events, only rewards for winning are now permitted, while kill rewards are no longer allowed.

To my knowledge, these restrictions apply exclusively to Media Families. This creates a significant disadvantage, as investing money into resources such as Juice and other event-related expenses is no longer worthwhile when family members receive little to no financial compensation in return. As a consequence, many players are losing interest in participating in Media Families.

2. General Suspicion Towards Family Leadership

Recently, we rebuilt a new Media Family. During this process, Deputy Chief Kathi stated the following:

"Currently, I will not grant you UnOff status. Since you started rebuilding, we have already banned several cheaters and ban evaders from your family."
This statement raises an important question: What exactly are the Media Partner and the Family Leadership expected to do in such situations?

It is neither our responsibility nor within our expertise to investigate whether players are using unauthorized software or whether they are ban evaders. We do not have access to the necessary tools or knowledge to perform such checks. This responsibility lies with the administrative team and the designated PC Checkers.

Holding the entire family leadership accountable for the actions of individual players creates an atmosphere of general suspicion, which is both discouraging and unfair. It significantly impacts the motivation of those who invest their time and effort into building and maintaining a successful Media Family.

3. Impact on the DE01 Community

From my perspective, these increasingly restrictive rules, which appear to be specific to DE01, are having a negative impact on the server.

Players are becoming less interested in joining or remaining in Media Families because they no longer see sufficient incentives or opportunities to benefit from their participation. This ultimately damages the Media Family system and reduces player engagement within this aspect of the server.

Conclusion

I am uncertain whether the Project Management team is fully aware of the extent of these issues. I understand that raising these concerns publicly may not be well received by everyone. However, I believe that the current situation cannot continue without review and discussion.

I have been a loyal member of Grand for the past four years and have always supported the community and the server. Nevertheless, ongoing developments such as these inevitably lead to frustration and a decline in motivation among long-term players.

Therefore, I respectfully ask the Project Management team to take these concerns seriously, review the current circumstances objectively, and assess whether the current treatment of Media Families on DE01 is fair and beneficial for the server's long-term health.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Kind regards,

Jack

Hey,

The rules for event payouts apply equally to all unofficial families, not just media families. Your family lost its status back then due to inactivity. Since several members were caught and banned for cheating and ban-evading immediately during the current rebuilding phase, a reissuance of the status is not possible at this time.

As family leadership, you are responsible for who attends which events on your behalf. However, it has become apparent that it is far too easy to obtain these permissions within your family. Therefore, no unofficial status has been granted at this current point in time. For further questions, the leader can contact the Head of Unoff (David Smok) or, as in this case, the Head of Media (Oleg Promillo) at any time.

Greetings,
Fabian
