Drax Diefalla came into the world in 1996 in Davis, Los Santos, the kind of city where crime wasn’t a way of life but a way of out. His father, a small-time dealer, vanished when Drax was a child. His mother soon departed as well, abandoning Drax to the care of his older cousin, Nagh, a street-level enforcer who had no interest in raising a child but enough sense to give him some sense of how the world works. Drax was sliding to the shadows already by 15, carrying cash, watching the corners, wiping away other people’s messes. He was silent, he kept his head down, and most important, he stayed out of the police system. But Drax never had loyalty to the streets, what he sought was control, and a badge was a better way to get that than a thug, he knew. He vanished from public view at 19, after almost getting pinned in a gang investigation. He went clean, Worked his way up to becoming a law enforcer and kept his record clean. Drax joined the San Andreas Highway Patrol at the age of 24. He was quick-witted, professional and tactically savvy. It was his field savvy and skill to “read the street” that separated him early on. The had risen fast through the ranks, and his reputation was well-established , an officer who delivered. But beneath the clean facade, Drax started getting up to some dirty tricks. At first it was small gestures, warning old contacts in advance of traffic operations, sheltering them from stops and searches. To Drax, it wasn’t corruption. It was control. He didn’t work for the gangs, they worked through him. Over time, his influence grew. He tried to keep his hands clean, his paperwork slicker, his face out of trouble. To the department, he is an asset. Out on the streets, he’s “Switch”, the one who can get a decision flipped, a bust delayed or anything made to disappear. Not for loyalty. For leverage.
