Story Background:
I didn't have much in the way of money, family, or security as a kid. My first memories are the wails of ambulance sirens outside the Tampa shelter. My mother left when I was still young and, as a result, the system raised me piece by piece. From foster home to foster home, I learned early on that nothing lasts; and putting people first puts you in the position to get hurt.
At four, I ran. I wasn't running away from anything; I was running toward something. A place I could write my own story. That's how Los Santos felt to me. It wasn't long after my arrival before I found myself back on my feet working as a bartender and later a street medic for underground fighters. Just patch 'em up quickly and no questions asked. They paid quickly, and quickly brought the trouble.
Eventually, I learned more than a medical trade. I learned how to read people, talk myself out of trouble, and move freely in the shadows leaving no trace. But, the more I worked that street scene, the more up-close I was seeing what pain really looked like broken people. Lost kids. People like I had once been. And that ignited something in me.
One night, after an alley fight went too far and I almost watched a kid die in my hands, I decided to quit. I walked away from the life underground and started proper training. No more blood money. No more shadows. I was finished being the cause of people bleeding, and was ready to be the cause of people living.
Career Path:
Xyra joined Los Santos EMS without any announcement of her arrival in town and she tried to keep it all on the down low. Nevertheless, in this line of work, word of mouth travels quickly. The calmness in chaos, the instinct that led her to act, and uncommon exposure made her stand out quickly. She did not study medicine from some school, she learned through chaos, and that made her special. Better.
She did not really climb the ranks pulling rank, but she proved herself when others were scared. On scene, she was hard to faze. She would run through gunfire to drag someone from the danger zone, she kept the most anxious callers calm, and found a way to push through whatever was thrown at her.
She now uses her skills for where it matters. She is training new recruits, running community aid events in tough neighborhoods, and helping kids who remind her of who she used to be. Off-duty, she has devoted the rest of her life to staying out of the way of it all. The streets still mutter her name but she doesn't answer unless it involves someone fighting for their life.
Outcome Permission:
Permitted to participate in illegal activity ONLY WHEN OFF DUTY (Must still follow server rules).
