Life Story

Retro Stark grew up in the peaceful countryside of Paleto Bay. His father was a retired soldier and his mother was a teacher. He had a simple life as a child. But the peace didn't last. When Retro was 14, his parents were killed in a hit and run that the police never solved. That moment made him lose faith in the system of justice. Retro grew up with both law and crime around him. His uncle, who was a well known car smuggler, taught him how to bend the law.

He kept going to school, got good grades, and eventually passed the SAHP entrance exams, all because he thought it was the right thing to do. He wanted to be in charge of things that other people couldn't, like the streets. He promised to keep people like his family safe. But the more he learned about the system, the more he saw how weak and easy it was to take advantage of.

Retro finally understood that no badge could guarantee justice; only power could. As time went on, the line between good and bad became less clear. He saw corruption as a way to balance power, make money, and still protect the people he wanted to protect.

Career Story

Retro Stark did not enter into the SAHP in order to become powerful. At that time, he was convinced in being an officer. He liked the chase when he was younger and wanted to catch street racers, drive his car extremely quickly and keep the highways safe. Other officers saw this. He was fast, intelligent and the type of partner one would desire.

But the shine never lasts. The calls leaked into each other, the paychecks were not seen, and corruption was sewed into each and every seam of the agency. The tipping point was reached when the son of a politician got found smuggling guns and was set free instantly on the bequest of higher authorities. That was the time when Retro lost his belief into the system. After that he no longer served it, but began to know how to bend it.

At first, it happened slowly. Allowing a driver to pass by. Making a correction here and there. Small issues were developing rapidly. One transaction led to another, and within a short time Retro was trading favors with runners who were linked to the cartel, not only in the form of stacks of cash, but also stolen cars, special equipment and confidential information, which was not available at a price. The word leaked out in the underground and they referred to him by a name: the man on the inside. His record on paper was as good as a good cover. Such a reputation helped him to make himself Undersheriff--once, once, and now again. Every creation made him stronger. He had nothing to do with merely stopping speeders anymore; he was the boss of the highways. He was able to switch patrols, conceal cases and which issues would be swept under the carpet. He seemed like a reputable leader to the people. His fame was the one who might assist or destroy criminals.

Retro Stark was equally respected, feared and not trusted by people. The badge did not give him the true power, but rather it taught him, to strike a balance between the law and corruption.
