Good afternoon, I am making a forum based on the forum that was made on my earlier today. Approved - Mass Rule Break | 60897. However, there is also room for RP to make a difference in this situation. As one of the most public and well-known aviates for RP in the city I would like to explain my side.
RP situation set up:A department was made for requesting a lawyer at the DOC, which I responded quickly and was on the way. Within the next 30-minute period, three LEOs were robbed on the Casino HWY in separate situations. I was one of them, causing me to lose 1 body armor, 1 stun gun, around 200 AR ammo, and an assault rifle carbine. During this, I would meet up with SAHP in a marked SUV and try to create a spike trap to catch the assassin family in the act. I know it was the assassin family ICly because they made me say "assassin on top" 3 times in my org radio.
The problematic RP situation: At the Spike trap Sophia and Justin arrive on scene in an unmarked FIB car (at the moment i didn't know it was an FIB car), and Sophia was in a hippo suit and Justin was wearing a pool floaty so I had my suspicions. Now in fairness, Justin was wearing an FIB vest, however, three LEOs were just robbed so I wasn't sure if it was stolen or not. I was then asked what Im doing, I explain the spike trap idea, which unsurprisingly, the assassin family who had been just driving up down the highway never returned to my location. Raising my suspicions even more of these two, then Sophia told me she was the deputy of assassin. So yes, with all my experience as a LEO I detained her. Not arrested her, I made that crystal clear, they were not under arrest, only detainment following an investigation. Ill explain very soon what charges I had for the investigation. However, here I stand with the Deputy of the Assassin family in cuff on the same highway that they are robbing people, so in proper RP I head to the nearest state key point of interest, which was the DOC. My tires were popped (more than likely to my noobish spike placement) and I drove as safely as I could to the DOC. Once there I made the department 3 times to FIB to call their High Command to the DOC to explain the situation, which FIB would never respond or arrive at the DOC.
The investigation: As I have explained my mindset for the detainment for IC reason, let me explain the investigation and the potential charge. P.C. 3.1.5 Formation of an Armed Group which is explained as creating or participating in the development of a group with the intent to commit criminal activities. I think its fair to believe that as a deputy of a crime family, you are participating in growing the family and assisting in the development of a group that has intent to commit a crime. Which as I said earlier Sophia on the highway where her family is currently robbing LEOS is also working as the same cops trying to "stop them". I asked which family members were involved, she wouldn't say, leading to more suspicion. Sophia said lets join a lawyer room, I said their high command wasnt there, and they werent under arrest so there was not reason for us to be in the lawyer room. I could see that they wre starting to get upset and I dont want to ruin anyone time in the city. I love Grand and I want everyone to have fun so I quietly and just to Sophia kind of as a hey veteran player to veteran player "Im not going to arrest you this is just RP and for fun". I was robbed out of uniform, therefore no bodycam of it, and when I detained Sophia I didnt see them commit a crime so I had no immediate charges to place them in the DOC. I was trying to follow my Leader Rules 2.3 Do not allow any provocative and conflict situations between the members of your organization. By just being like, hey Sophia im doing my job, come on youve been in the city long enough, and you can see how bad this looks from a LEO point of view. However I was true to my word they were released before the 25 min time limit and were not arrested. I followed all my IC rules, the UB driving charge, RP-wise, fear for life on hwy and went to safe location, Mixing fellow player just trying not to ruin another's gaming session. FailedRP me acutally doing real cop work and exploring investigations over just plainly arresting someone.
The double charge: I was given two separate punishments for the same situation. The first forum was Mixing, then the Failed-RP + UB -Driving. Approved - Mixing in rp | 60897 is the first punishment for Mixing and Approved - Mass Rule Break | 60897 is the second. For the same situation but two separate punishments. Seems a little unfair and uncool for Sophia to post me twice over something that could of been handled ICly however Ill move on..
