She worked wherever she could—on construction sites, in roadside garages, helping transport goods, spending long days in paddy fields, and driving bull carts for farmers. The pay was minimal, but responsibility came early. Over time, frustration grew as honest work failed to provide stability. Out of necessity rather than greed, Kaliya made small compromises, getting involved in minor illegal tasks that slowly became part of her routine. Still, she never felt at home in that life. With limited opportunities around her and a constant feeling of being stuck, she saved what little she could and left for Los Santos. The move wasn’t about chasing crime—it was about chasing control over her own future.

In the beginning, she genuinely believed she could contribute to something better and bring fairness to the system. However, as she moved deeper into the organization, she began noticing uncomfortable truths: cases influenced by power, decisions shaped by politics, and justice that wasn’t always equal. The disappointment weighed on her, pushing her to step away for a while. Life outside the bureau reminded her that chaos offered no real answers either. When Kaliya returned to the FIB, her outlook had changed. She still did her job and upheld the law publicly, but privately she became more selective and pragmatic. She bent rules when they felt hollow and helped people she believed deserved a second chance. She didn’t see herself as corrupt—only realistic in an imperfect system.
