Jayy Blu was born in a small South African town with impoverished homes and jobs that made it difficult for him to go to school,
But because of his excessive energy and curiosity, he later engaged in a number of stupid behaviours with the wrong friends,
including drug use, excessive sleeping, and bad choices that would ruin his future.
He recalls begging strangers for money outside of tiny stores so he could buy food.
He lost pride and only cared about surviving; friends left him and family fought him, but he saw an opportunity to start over.
He moved to Los Santos, California, which was large, frightening, and he didn't know how to live there.
