Dear LeBron,
dear DE01 administrative team,
I know you must be sick and tired of this topic, but I cannot, in good conscience, keep silent about it whilst my colleagues and I are heavily impacted and deeply unhappy with the new rulings about dispatch centers.
Dispatch centers used to be means to enhance our roleplay and gave us the necessary tools for a fast, structured and easy management of our employees. We used them to organize patrols with dedicated call names, coordinate event attendance and track peoples training. Furthermore, it enabled every employee to easily look up their rank and what training they need to advance to the next one. All in all, they enhanced our roleplay experience and enabled us to live out our chosen roles as police officer. With dispatch centers gone now, we lost the means to easily plan patrol schedules (especially during mandatory service hours) as well as the ability to look up and track mandatory training courses for everyone; management is much harder now and our roleplay experience suffers because of that, not to mention the hours and hours of work and dedication some put into creating amazing dispatch centers that are wasted now.
I personally do not know why this course of action was taken, as there was no official announcement that I’m aware of; from what I’ve gathered, it seems that the new ruling was implemented because one organization leader and a few of his/her members on DE01 was unable or unwilling to use their dispatch center correctly. I do not blame them, but if this is indeed the case, I find it harsh to ban a frankly amazing tool that’s been in place for years just because of a loud and uncooperative minority – to the detriment of every and all state employees and their respective organizations.
I’d like to kindly and respectfully ask of you all to revisit this recent ruling, considering how many people openly disagree with it. One suggestion I have would be to implement dispatch centers on a voluntarily basis; let every leader decide if they want to implement a dispatch center for their respective organization. This would enable everyone who is upset about the ban to use them again while respecting the wishes of those who complained, satisfying the needs of all players in this regard.
I also know that everything involving Email-addresses is a sensitive topic, especially in Germany and the European Union due to various data privacy acts. For that, I would suggest letting individual players opt-out of any dispatch center and other form that would require them to use their Email to access it. Also, in my opinion it is a leader’s responsibility to ensure the privacy of anyone who uses their chosen tools of management and that they should be held accountable for it, either by ensuring safety, letting people opt out or by letting people agree to simple terms of service.
Thank you for your time and I hope we can find a workable solution for anyone involved.
Kindest regards,
Sergei
P.S.: Kathi – sorry for using your name in the title; it was just so my post adheres to the rules. I direct no resentment or negativity towards you or any other staff member
