Background: Scarlet was born into a family of holistic free-thinkers and raised to work hard, to think for yourself, to conduct your own research about controversial matters, and to treat others with absolute kindness even in the worst situations. She is a young professional from the greater San Francisco area of California, where she was pursuing a degree in Biochemistry/Pharmacology at UC Berkeley. Scarlet had a part-time job that was unconventional, but not unusual for her, given her holistic upbringing. Outside of classes and studying, she sold marijuana to pay for books and necessities while away at college, and thought she was mindful of her actions and who she dealt with. It was important to her as a medical marijuana advocate to not only provide safe marijuana for her clients, but she would also educate them on marijuana usage. Unfortunately, after 3 years into her schooling, she was caught by campus authorities and kicked out for distributing and selling controlled substances on campus. Instead of fighting to stay at the school or to fight the charges, she accepted the punishment and decided to leave the area to move to Los Santos for a fresh start. Upon moving to Los Santos from San Francisco, Scarlet quickly realized she needed a decent paying job in order to afford her apartment. Even though she did not complete her degree in Biochemistry, she wanted to see if she could use her experience from school and work in the medical field.
After Joining EMS: Scarlet was hired to work for EMS and completed her training, and let her superiors know her past experience in Biochemistry/Pharmaceuticals from school, where they then set up a career path for Scarlet to work towards. After her first week of employment and successfully passing the exam, she was promoted to the Pharmacist rank which allows her to work exclusively within the Humane Laboratories. The lab is almost always empty, which gave her time to thoroughly explore the laboratory, equipment, and storage options available. She believes she would be able to make additional money on the side if she were to deal again. Her goal is to obtain potential clients while working at EMS, however, she would be extremely cautious of who and where she deals so as to not repeat her last offense.
