I woke up. I got on my bike and went to the beach. I was going to get some rest and go to work. I had thoughts in my mind about the recent bad situation and how I can keep the people of SAHP, my family, safe outside. I was punched by a person I didn't know where it came from. I was shaken and fell off my bike. My gun, which I kept safe in its holster, did not fall to the ground. I got up and thought it was a robber trying to steal my bike or a gang member posing a threat to my life. I was under attack, I checked the area around me, it was clean, no other civilians. Under all these circumstances, I drew my weapon and responded. As anyone who is going to be in this situation should do. I have years of field experience. Therefore, I am aware that even a second is very important. I've watched so many young officers die in recent days, lost friends on the field, and was in an emotionally sensitive period. It might be a matter of time before he attacks me with an assault rifle or a small shotgun hidden behind his back. In all these circumstances, I took what I thought was the right decision and protected my own life from an aggressor. However, in the case decision, I saw that I was punished as if I was the attacker, the one who made an attempt on someone else's life for no reason.
