I’d like to appeal/review a warning I received for Rule 6.15. I was warned for allegedly shooting without proper RP engagement, but in this situation the player was actively shooting into the green zone at police while an officer was sitting there.
I have a gun license and was legally carrying, and from my perspective I was acting to protect an officer who was actively being shot at especially because we had just been having a conversation moments before and he is also in my family. This was not me initiating random violence, but responding to an immediate threat against someone I was standing with.
OOC, I’m military, and if something like this happened in real life I would have reacted the same way I did IC responding to protect someone under active fire. My response was instinctive and defensive, not an attempt to bypass RP or ignore server rules.
Because this was defensive action in response to an active shooter, I don’t believe it fits a normal no-demand initiation scenario where Rule 6.15 would apply the same way. I believe this may have been a misunderstanding of the circumstances and I’d appreciate the warning being reviewed in context of the full situation.
