Hello,
I would like to request a review of my RDM punishment as per forum Reviewed - Bug Abuse + RDM | 524798.
My question is: if another player starts shooting at me without any prior demands or roleplay, am I expected to simply stand there, get shot, and die without defending myself?
GR 6.15 states that demands must be given before engaging. However, in this situation, the other player had already opened fire on me without any warning. At that point, it was impossible for me to issue demands before responding, as I would likely have been killed before I could even finish speaking.
The player who initiated the gunfire had already broken the rule by attacking without demands. My actions were purely in response to an immediate threat to my character's life. From a roleplay perspective, it is entirely realistic for someone to defend themselves when they are being actively shot at. Stopping to issue demands while bullets are already being fired is not a realistic expectation.
Also, GTA5 being based in U.S. setting, the Second Amendment reflects the principle of an individual's right to bear arms for self-defense and , which includes the ability to protect oneself from being shot. From an RP perspective, it is natural for someone to defend themselves when they are under attack
