This "saga" may be long and detailed, but I feel it's required to "set the stage" as to how awful an experience playing in the server has become. I'm making this forum report in my game husband Jack, #152927's stead, as he's currently banned from forums. This is regarding a report made against #152927 by #135323, "Martyn Byrde", found here (link to my comments/proofs I'd provided to help prove #135323's case being a sham): Rejected - ]]Sexual Harassment in GZ | 152927
I'd gone into the post as again, #152927 is denied access/defending himself in forums due to his ban, all to prove that the accusations in the report were baseless, considering "Martyn"'s disgusting, provoking behavior (showcased in my footage, along with Jack's) he'd decided to not show in his own report. While he provided 12 seconds to try and get Jack punished for "sexual harassment", I had much more. Problem is, I've had to avoid livestreaming as a way to capture footage/use as bodycam as I've become a target in the city enough that one user in particular, Morgan Smart, went so far as to stream-snipe me and make an attempt to use extremely OOC information in-game in order to try and nab me for having weed in my house storage, something so flagrantly against the rules you'd think he'd have gotten banned. However, he'd received a simple demorgan, and his abuse continued as usual the moment he was out; in turn, I was instructed to manage his rule-breaking behavior in not streaming, pinning blame on me. Because of this, I can no longer make quick-clipped-and-shipped footage segments without needing an hour or more to edit with my computer's software, which is the most basic and touchy program that my computer allows. It couldn't open the footage's file for whatever messy reason, and no amount of fixes suggested helped. Therefore, I had to upload the entire file unedited; as again, I'd had reports denied on the basis of length and not timestamping rule breaks relevant to what I was reporting (when ALL of the 18 minutes were in fact relevant, as that was how long I had to endure abusive actions and sexual harassment entirely... that link is here: Rejected - 3.1, 6.9, Provoking | IDs 167085 and 72356) I quoted that the first 1:50 of the video was the footage containing the actual events as they happened, showing #135323's reportable offenses.
Admin Larry McGavin handled the report, and while he denied the initial claim of sexual harassment made against #152927, he tacked on a charge of "OOC insults" and handed down a 7-day ban to #152927, based on him calling #135323 an "idiot" in the text-chat. There are two problems with this:
1. The most obvious is how 'idiot' garners a whole entire 7-day ban, whereas someone stream-sniping a player lands them in a quick, painless demorgan for an hour or so. To say that the punishment goes overboard isn't saying *enough*, and considering the climate in-city and what's gone on, I'd want to investigate what kind of bias is involved when it comes to who gets punished for what, and why, and
2. I clearly state in the initial comment providing the footage that the relevant portion of video/material was from the start of the video until the timestamp of 1:50. I would THINK then that any admin handling this report/case would understand that anything past that is irrelevant, and to hold me to account for having provided more than that has all been brought on by how I've had to struggle, daily, to make reports entirely with the limitations foisted upon me via other players and what admins advise. ANYTHING PAST the time I quoted, 00:00-01:50, should not be considered as free-reign for an admin, no matter their level of power within the forum/server, to use for/against myself or anyone else.
I find it very deceptive that at every switch and turn, I've been blockaded from having freedom of movement and have to fight constantly to get reportable offenses noted and taken care of. One moment, I'm not timestamping 18 minutes of solid torment from 2+ people and getting the report denied based on an admin's refusal to acknowledge that timestamping every moment would have made my reporting-time double, if not triple what it actually took. The next, an admin takes the unedited footage I gave, where I clearly state that the reportable material ends at 1:50, all to fast-forward to the timestamp of *2:20* where the offense of #152323's typing the word 'idiot' at the guy who'd harassed us relentlessly is used to slap an entire 7-days of being banned on the man I was trying to help.
I'm making this report despite the fact that I'm literally scared to bits that this all earns ME a ban, here and in the server. I expect to have this read and viewed as 'admin disrespect', as anything me and others in our "situation" have been experiencing over and over again. But I'm reaching a point of feeling absolutely miserable, hopeless and depressed over what's going on, and have already been struggling for reasons to stay. To say that I feel gutted over how someone can stream-snipe me and constantly, incessantly harass me, every single day yet only get shoved into a cell for an hour as punishment... but that my footage is used and manipulated to enact another punishment to the person I was trying to help (someone who's helped ME from leaving the city and giving up, due to his help with all I've had to deal with), is all an understatement.
I request that #152927's ban be lifted upon review of this report, and if the charge of his using the word 'idiot' still holds weight enough, it's given a proper, equitable punishment. 7-day bans are NOT to be used so flagrantly against a player for uttering "idiot" in a chat.
