The Vercetti Clan criminal group is a Greek-Hungarian organized crime syndicate affiliated with the Hungarian Mafia. The family was founded in 1981 by Jhony Verceti, and it quickly became the most powerful Mafia family, rivaling the House of Stark crime family for power. The Vercetti family was renamed after Jimmy Vercetti in 1957, and the family engaged in gambling, loansharking, real estate, prostitution, fraud, bribery, and labor union corruption for cedars.
The Vercetti Clan, as it developed into the strongest Crime Clan, had origins in several different towns in Budapest and later mainland Greece, making the Vercetti clan the most diversified of the Five Families of Budapest. They ran a gang active in extortion, strong-arming, the Hungarian lottery, and a huge counterfeiting operation for its time.
