Tonio grew up in a religious family that always told him what to do, and he felt like he was being forced into everything, even while studying in a Catholic school. After graduating, he left his family and started living on his own, leaving everything behind. However, life in Tunisia was challenging, so he started selling drugs to make a living and save money to leave his country and fly to America, which had always been his dream.
After arriving in America, Tonio waited until he could become an American citizen on paper. Initially, he decided to stop selling drugs and make a clean start, but he soon found that living clean was more challenging than being a drug dealer. Eventually, he made too many friends in that life, and when he found out that the SAHP was recruiting, he applied just to make money without selling but dealing with paraphernalia.
