Life Story:
Five Brothers in a small house in India – this was how my life began. As the oldest son I started working at the age of thirteen, doing odd jobs around the city until settling at a restaurant as a waiter. Although not the most lucrative job for a humble worker, it offered me independence, the wrong crowd and many a bad choice. Freedom that was as good as any drug hit and I found hard to let go of, opening doors in the city my parents had been fighting to keep my brothers and me from. Most of my teenage years were spent in a haze of drugs, fast cars and women. After one particularly bad decision involving a rubber monkey mask and a convenience store ATM, I landed in hot water with the authorities. The beauty of juvenile delinquency. Fortunately, the harshest punishment I received was from my parents. For years thereafter their disappointment followed me, driving me to break away from the friends I had made, forcing me to change my ways until all I did with my days was work for a friend of my father's at a barbershop. Under his guidance, I began to see things differently and started to enjoy working hard and the reward of service. Good service. Community service. It wasn’t easy, and change rarely is, but it made me want more for myself, and more importantly, for my family. But like every addict ever, some vices stick to you like glue, and mine happens to be street racing. The sound of the shifting gears, the interior smell and the feel of power in your hands as you grip the steering wheel – a psychologist would say I’m an adrenaline junkie, but I like to think of myself as an advocate for freedom.
Outcomes:
1. I would like to be able to drive through the cities at more than 120km and on highways at more than 180km.
2. In a dangerous situation I would like to be able to go off-road regardless of the vehicle I am driving.
