Maya Russo's Life Story:
Maya Russo was born and raised in the lower mainland of Canada, in a modest 4-person middle-class family, consisting of herself, her sister Minxy & her parents. Growing up, she was always a bright and curious child, with a deep sense of justice; a lot of what she aspired to become was influenced by her older sister who was often seen passionately arguing about various social and political issues within the city they grew up in. Their mutual interest of justice was often recognized by many during social interactions, but so was their sense of rebellion, motivated by their will to correct the wrongs of the city, even if it meant doing the wrong thing, to attain the right result. The two were inseparable and often found covering up the tracks of the other well, utilizing charm and deviance to attain what they wanted. This was known by most, but hard to prove. They spent many nights devising plans on how to change the unfair system that ruled over them and promised to one day find a way, while they used the time they had now to better their skills like pickpocketing, manipulation of documents and situations.
Maya, unlike her sister, was shy. Often observing more than she spoke, analyzing situations to map out the best-case scenario. Along side her sister, she often spoke her way out of most troubles they found themselves in. Despite the encouragement of many, Maya faced some challenges during her childhood as her rebellion slowly started to catch the attention of the authorities in her life; as her sister had now gone away for college, leaving her to continue their rebellious streak on her own. She watched as many injustices unfolded within her life as well as with the people in the city and knew it would be impossible to achieve so much change alone. But this only made Maya more determined, and she channeled her frustration towards bettering her abilities to turn the plans they had both mapped out into a reality.
Career Story:
Following in the footsteps of her older sister, Maya pursued a career in law. Despite not excelling as her sister did, she built a reputation that had her known for easily navigating complex situations and her connection to her sister in the government was significant enough to have no one question her entrance. She recognized the power of manipulation, just as her sister had taught her growing up and utilized her legal knowledge and persuasive abilities to navigate through the corruption and attain what she wanted within her position. Their detailed planning was now coming to use as she knew that her alliance with Minxy would now pay off, allowing them to create a system that worked best for them. Embarking on their journeys into government, Maya continues to work by the book, until granted the opportunity to do otherwise.
