Butcher has a difficult upbringing while growing up in a destitute Los Santos area. His mother struggled to support him as a single parent while his father spent time in and out of jail for drug-related charges. Butcher frequently ran afoul of the authorities after engaging in small-time burglary and vandalism with his gang of associates.
Butcher's criminal activity increased as he grew older. He joined a gang for protection and began selling narcotics to get money. Due to his aggressive tendencies and contempt for the law, he quickly rose to the top of the most wanted list in the city.
