1. Leader of... EMS

2. Why do you want to be a leader of this specific organization? (List three reasons with an explanation)

First and foremost, my aspiration to lead EMS stems from a deep sense of dedication and a strong work ethic. Many individuals are drawn to this field due to their intrinsic desire to assist others. Whether driven by innate compassion or a commitment to contribute to society, EMS attracts those with a genuine calling to serve. Moreover, it can also satisfy the yearning for further exploration in the realm of medical research.

Additionally, I am determined to ensure the availability of an ample workforce to respond to emergency situations. It is disconcerting when there is a lack of personnel available to perform rescue missions promptly. I believe in addressing this issue to prevent any prolonged distress for individuals in need. Ultimately, my goal is to make a positive impact on the community, ensuring that everyone feels safe and supported.

Lastly, one of the most fulfilling aspects of an EMS career lies in the profound connections formed with patients. Despite the challenging circumstances in which we meet, such as serious health challenges or injuries, we have the privilege of rapidly establishing a meaningful rapport. We not only contribute to their medical treatment but also play a significant role in their lives, fostering a deep sense of personal fulfillment.

Overall, my desire to lead EMS stems from a dedication to hard work and a genuine passion for helping others. By ensuring adequate staffing and fostering meaningful connections with patients, I aspire to make a positive difference in the community, providing a sense of safety, support, and well-being to all.

3. Your advice for improving the RolePlay level in the organization.

EMS is the critical issue of staffing shortages, particularly during the hours of 18:00-7:00. As a leader, my top priority would be to address this pressing concern, as it not only places a heavy burden on a limited group of individuals but also hampers the overall enjoyment of the job. While there is an influx of applicants eager to join EMS, the lengthy 48-hour application review process needs to be streamlined to a maximum of 15 hours to ensure a timely response and efficient recruitment.

To further enhance staffing and training, I propose implementing significant changes in the FTO (Field Training Officer) program. Many individuals aspire to become FTOs but often fall short in training an adequate number of new recruits. By setting a minimum weekly requirement for the number of trainees an FTO must mentor, we can ensure a consistent and effective training process. Additionally, introducing a shift system for training and trainee exams would bring structure and efficiency to the process. Allocating specific time slots for trainees to meet with FTO staff to conduct their exams would enhance organization and ensure a smoother assessment process.

In order to optimize response times and streamline operations, I would create a timezone shift system that aligns perfectly with the demands of both lobbies and emergency calls. This system would enable effective management of call distribution and ensure prompt responses. Furthermore, I propose implementing a bonus system for EMS staff, providing incentives for active engagement and commitment. Offering a daily bonus for each shift worked, with a standard 4-hour duration per shift, would motivate and reward our dedicated team.

I sincerely hope you will consider my application, as my unwavering dedication lies in the success of EMS in our city. During an interview, I would be delighted to share additional innovative ideas that I believe will contribute positively to the advancement of EMS services.
