A mixed heritage of Native American and Indian descent, his nickname "Black Fox" came from his sharp instincts and a quiet, watchful demeanor as a child. Raised in Davis, one of the roughest neighborhoods of the city, Black Fox witnessed firsthand the struggles of poverty, crime, and systemic injustice.
