Introduction to Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a vital healthcare system designed to provide emergency medical care, life-saving interventions, and transportation for individuals in urgent need of medical attention. In addition to offering first aid and rescue services, EMS is deeply involved in public health initiatives, including conducting inspections, supporting government health programs, and administering vaccinations.
One of EMS’s core principles is offering care to everyone, regardless of race, gender, nationality, socioeconomic status, religion, or any other factor.
However, EMS personnel are also expected to protect their own safety, meaning medical services may be limited if their own lives are at risk. Citizens also have the right to decline medical treatment, and EMS respects these decisions.
