SAHP’s Responsibilities
SAHP officers are entrusted with a wide range of essential duties, including:
Highway Patrol & Traffic Enforcement – Ensuring that San Andreas' highways are safe, enforcing speed limits, and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.
Crime Investigation & Response – Detecting and responding to criminal activities along highways and in surrounding areas.
Emergency Response – Assisting in accidents, offering roadside assistance, and managing emergency situations.
Inter-Agency Collaboration – Working alongside the LSPD, FIB, NG, and other public safety agencies to maintain peace and order across the state.
Departments & Specialized Units
SAHP is structured into various specialized units, each focusing on specific aspects of law enforcement to ensure maximum coverage and effectiveness:
Traffic Enforcement & Patrol Unit (TEPU)
Responsible for general highway patrol, speed enforcement, responding to accidents, and ensuring vehicles are compliant with safety standards.
Manages high-speed chases and removes illegally parked or uninsured vehicles from the road.
SWAT Team
Deployed for high-risk operations, including hostage rescues, counter-terrorism, and violent crime situations.

SAHP Training: Four Phases to Excellence
SAHP recruits undergo an extensive four-phase training program designed to prepare them for the demands of law enforcement:
Phase 1 – Basic Entry-Level Training
Covers the fundamental aspects of law enforcement, including procedures, regulations, and essential skills.
Phase 2 – Department-Based Operations Training
Focuses on specialized training for the recruit’s designated unit or department, with role-specific guidance.
Phase 3 – Code of Conduct & Penal Code Training
Ensures recruits are well-versed in legal procedures, ethics, and SAHP policies.
Phase 4 – High Command Training
Mandatory for high command officers, and also available for non-high command members preparing for promotion.
Work Schedule: Focused on Impactful Engagement
SAHP officers do not work on a traditional hourly schedule. Instead, they are expected to engage with the community and participate in scheduled events based on their rank:
Mid & Low Commands: Attend a minimum of three different events during their shift.
High Command: Required to attend all scheduled events during their designated shift.
