Fair appeal in my opinion and clear why you made the message. I would however be careful, as you can see he got punished, so responding is not the right thing to do. I am all fine if my Chiefs decide to approve the appeal. I will release you pending the decision, so you dont spend unneeded time muted. They can however mute you again if they think it was a correct punishment.
