Dear Bobby,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally request a fair and impartial review of a recent decision made by Stefano Castillo concerning a hostage situation that occurred during a store robbery today.
The incident involved two hostages, and I would like to raise several important points regarding the conduct of the LEOs involved:
I am not questioning anyone's authority, but as a committed role-player who values immersive and fair RP scenarios, I respectfully ask you to re-evaluate this case. It’s essential for curators and admins to uphold consistent standards, and to ensure LEOs are reminded that their first priority in a hostage situation is to protect hostages, not to prioritize arrests.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I trust that you will take a fair look at the situation and help maintain a balanced and realistic RP environment for everyone involved.
- Lack of Genuine Negotiation Efforts:
From my perspective, it was clear that there were no sincere negotiation attempts made by the LEOs. Despite us informing them multiple times that we had two hostages and that our only intention was to negotiate the safe release of the hostages in exchange for the gang members’ safety, the LEOs consistently focused on surrounding and targeting us rather than prioritizing hostage safety. - Pattern of Repeated Behavior:
This is not an isolated incident. In many similar hostage situations, LEOs repeatedly show the same behavior — bypassing proper negotiation procedures and instead treating the scene as an opportunity to arrest gang members. This raises serious concerns about the quality and authenticity of the roleplay being conducted. - Failure to Prioritize Hostage Lives:
The primary role of law enforcement in a hostage scenario should be to protect and save lives. However, the LEOs' actions clearly indicate that their main goal was to apprehend gang members, even if it compromised the hostages' safety. When we attempted to communicate this to FIB officers, we were met with dismissive responses such as, "Is that a demand?" This dismisses our efforts to engage in meaningful RP and undermines the entire scenario. - Regarding the Second Hostage:
In the POV I submitted, it’s visible that one of the hostages disconnected during the event. In (EN2) such cases, if a hostage leaves mid-scenario, admins can temporarily step in as a stand-in hostage to preserve the RP integrity. This protocol was followed to maintain standards. - Concerns with Stefano Castillo’s Final Decision:
Despite the points raised and the POV provided, the final decision by Stefano Castillo concluded that this was not a case of Fail RP by the LEOs. I strongly believe this decision does not align with the actual events that transpired. The LEOs not only failed to negotiate but actively and sneakily attempted to detain our gang members during the scene — a clear violation of FAIL RP
