Background story of the family:
After Dexter’s fall and Michael leaving the city, The Crew had full control over the streets of Los Santos. People thought Phantom would finally be satisfied. The man who lost everything had now gained power, respect, and fear in the city. But inside him, nothing felt complete. Revenge did not bring peace. Power did not bring back his parents. Every victory felt empty. He smiled less, talked less, and started spending more time alone, even when surrounded by his own people. As the days passed, Phantom focused more on protecting The Crew than expanding it. He became extremely cautious and overprotective. He would personally check every deal, every meeting location, every new member. He trusted very few people. The pain of losing his family had turned into a constant fear of losing someone again. If any Crew member got injured, he blamed himself. If something went wrong, he didn’t sleep that night. The others saw him as strong, but they didn’t see how heavy his mind had become. At night, he often drove alone through the city. Past the old house he grew up in. Past the docks where his father died. Past the hospital where his mother took her last breath. The city lights of Los Santos looked beautiful from far away, but to him, they were just reminders of memories that never left. Sometimes he would park his car near the ocean and sit there for hours, thinking about how different life could have been if his father had never taken that first illegal delivery. One evening, while handling a dispute between two small street groups, Phantom saw a young boy standing nearby, watching everything with anger in his eyes. The boy reminded him of himself — confused, hurt, and slowly being pulled toward violence. That moment hit him deeply. Phantom realized that if The Crew continued operating like a traditional gang, even without drugs, they were still part of the same cycle that destroyed his family. Violence creates fear, fear creates more violence, and the chain never ends. That night he spoke to Luca privately. For the first time in a long time, he opened up about his nightmares, his guilt, and the emptiness he still carried. He admitted that sometimes he felt tired of being strong all the time. Luca understood. She had her own scars. Together they decided The Crew would slowly shift its purpose completely. No more drug links. No more unnecessary bloodshed. Only protection, order, and controlled power. The transition was not easy. Some members wanted more money, more territory, more dominance. Phantom had to make hard decisions. A few people were removed from the group. A few turned against them. There were small internal conflicts, but Phantom handled them calmly. He didn’t shout. He didn’t threaten. He simply made it clear that The Crew would not become the very thing that destroyed their lives. Over time, the city started seeing a change. Crime reduced in certain areas controlled by The Crew. Small shop owners felt safer. People began coming to Phantom and Luca not just out of fear, but for help. Still, Phantom never saw himself as a hero. In his heart, he still felt like a broken son trying to repair damage that could never truly be fixed. Even today, when everything seems stable, Phantom carries his father’s old keychain in his pocket. It reminds him why he fights, why he controls himself, and why he refuses to let anger decide his actions again. The city may see him as a powerful gang leader, but deep inside he is still healing. Not fully healed, maybe never fully healed, but trying every single day to make sure no other family in Los Santos experiences the silence that once filled his home forever.
