Life story
Amy would always come home to her mom passed out on the couch with a sitcom running on the television. Her mom picked up extra shifts at the Backlots, so a lot of labor and hours will knock anyone on their ass. She quickly does her chores to keep her mom off her back, especially on Thursdays.
Thursdays were when her dad came over. Amy’s parents weren’t married, and her father lived on the other side of town with his new family. But, whenever he came over, he always asked Amy where her mom was or if she had good grades. He never seemed to remember she graduated high school almost five years ago. But he and her mom were always too occupied with each other to notice how his car would go missing, and that night was no different.
Amy would sneak out the side door and start her dad’s blue Bravado Banshee. As soon as its engine started, she’d cut off the front lights to check that no one was looking out the window. Once the coast was clear, she’d slowly pull out of her driveway and onto the road.
She usually picked up her friend, Alex, on the way to her races at the Vinewood Casino’s racetrack for small meetups, but this night was different. At the last race, she was approached by a mysterious racer who told her that her dad’s banshee wasn’t for dirt racing. She wasn’t sure why they made that comment until they invited her to a one-on-one drag race at the airport. Alex told Amy not to go by herself, but she’d made a name for herself in the spring of that year and never backed down from a race (if it was on a Thursday, of course). So, when Amy pulled up to the meeting spot, she and the stranger went over the rules before lining up at the start - one lap, one winner.
At the signal, their tires screeched on the pavement when they took off. Amy and the mysterious racer came up on their first turn, and his Hellcat cuts around the corner like butter. But when Amy turned her wheel, her tires skidded, and her car’s tail started spinning out. Amy was used to the pushback from her dirt races, so she tried to counter the car’s direction but quickly lost control of the car. It flipped once, twice, then crashed into the side of an empty plane garage. Security alarms sounded, but Amy couldn’t move, and the mysterious racer had sped off before the authorities showed up.
Thankfully, after weeks in the hospital and months of physical therapy, Amy was able to walk away from the accident. Unfortunately, the severity of her whiplash managed to damage her throat and vocal cords, so her voice is now deeper than most women her age. But Amy would rather have her life and a deep voice than being paralyzed and never drive again.
Career story
after the accident, Amy decided to quit racing and pursue a different path in life. She had many jobs including farming, electrician and lumberjack, but she didn't find them to be fulfilling so she kept searching for different job opportunities. She eventually landed a job at Life Invader where she edits ads in her free time. She currently has the role of supervisor and she loves working there.
outcomes
1) Amy can now work from home editing ads in her job.
2) Amy can now afford to live away from all the drama in her life.
3) Amy is happily married to her old friend Alex.
4) Amy Now has no intention of ever racing again in her life.
