- Hello Lebron,
We, the players of the DE1 server, would like to ask you to take a closer look at the current situation on the server, especially regarding the large number of bans that have recently been issued with the reasoning “Supporting Ban Evader.”
I believe I can speak for many players on the server when I say that we unfortunately have the feeling that the High Team is currently either interpreting rules in a way that severely harms many players, or possibly enforcing internal rules that were decided somewhere within the project leadership but have never been clearly communicated to the player base.
To give you a better understanding of the situation, I would like to mention a few examples from the recent past:
For example, Steve Cock was banned for Supporting Ban Evading because he invited Medhi Legacy, who had around a 40k ID, into his organization and family and interacted financially with him in that context.
Meanwhile, a player named Izan Legacy was banned after giving some money to several players with 300k+ IDs for things such as upgrades, juices, and similar items while serving as a vice leader of a family.
Me, Naydaq Legacy, even conducted a small test. He intentionally gave 3–4 players at the beach around 10k each, specifically choosing players with IDs between roughly 280k and 310k, simply to see what would happen. One day later he was in fact banned for Supporting Ban Evading.
A player named Lionel Azimi was also banned for a situation very similar to the one involving Izan Legacy.
Situations like this are why many players feel that the actions of the High Team are currently reaching a level that should not be tolerated in this form. The impression that is spreading across the community is that administrators are randomly reviewing family logs, and if they see something like “you gave money to three people,” the result becomes: you are now banned for Supporting Ban Evader. If that is truly the intended approach, then logically every family on the server should be reviewed and treated the same way. But if that were done consistently, tomorrow the server would not have 1,500 players online anymore — it would likely have 150, because the rest would all be banned for “Supporting Ban Evader.”
- From the perspective of many players, the way the High Team is currently acting in these situations feels extremely unfair. We would like to ask you to hear us out and respond to these concerns.
We have absolutely no issue with bans when players clearly break the rules. We all stand 100% on the side of the server and distance ourselves from anyone who intentionally harms the server or its community.
However, recently many players have been banned simply because they gave money to high-ID players. The issue here is that no player can see a “ban evader” label above someone’s head. Many of us have helped new players who joined through the hotel system because they told us they came from another server and wanted to start playing events on DE1. To then be banned a few days later for Supporting Ban Evader because of helping those players is a measure from the High Team that feels extremely unreasonable. If there is clear evidence that someone is knowingly supporting a ban evader — for example by buying them a VPN, a new GTA copy, or anything similar to bypass a ban — then of course that is legitimate supporting and should absolutely be punished. But giving in-character money to high-ID players, inviting them into a family, or supporting them as new members and then having that interpreted as “supporting ban evasion” simply does not make sense. Another contradiction that many players have noticed concerns the hotel event that takes place every day at 02:20. One of the three possible tasks for the winners of that event is to give money to 50 players under Visa Level 3 — which realistically means that around 95% of them are players with 300k IDs. If the current interpretation of the High Team is applied consistently, that would mean that every player completing that task should technically risk being banned, because out of 50 players with 300k IDs it is almost guaranteed that at least one of them could be a ban evader. That alone shows how unrealistic the current situation feels from a player’s perspective.
- At the moment it feels like someone needs to review or oversee the actions of the High Team, because situations like this can seriously damage the trust within the community. Unfortunately, the Chief Fabian Grace has been very difficult to reach lately — perhaps he is on vacation or simply overwhelmed — which is why we are asking you, as the Curator of the project, to please take a look at this situation. If the intention truly is that players should not give money or support to high-ID players anymore, then that rule should at least be clearly written and communicated — although such a rule would hardly make sense for normal roleplay and everyday server interactions. As the example with Steve Cock shows, even inviting a 40k ID player like Medhi Legacy into an organization or giving them a relatively small amount of money can already be interpreted as supporting a ban evader under the current approach.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We hope this message helps explain the current situation more clearly from the players’ perspective. In the end, we all simply want to play peacefully and enjoy the server, without seeing the server suffer due to questionable decisions or inconsistent enforcement — something that has unfortunately harmed other servers in the past.
