Hello Lebron,

This is my second time writing this complaint, and I believe it is for a good reason. The issue I want to address is the current leader criteria on the RS1 server, specifically the rule that a player must have fewer than 3 bans to become a leader.
While the idea behind this rule may sound good in theory, in practice I believe it is hurting the server more than helping it. Most experienced and long-term players naturally end up with more than 3 bans over the years, sometimes even for situations that were minor or not entirely their fault. Removing those players from leadership opportunities greatly reduces the number of qualified candidates.
A good example of this is the recent crime organization interviews. These are some of the most popular factions on the server, yet now only around 3–5 people even make it to the interview stage because many applicants are rejected immediately due to the current criteria. Before this rule was introduced, crime organization interviews could have up to 10 candidates participating. For the latest “Families” interview, there was only 1 applicant, and he did not pass. To me, this clearly shows that the current criteria is too restrictive and is discouraging players from even trying.
I also believe the old criteria was much more practical and fair for everyone. The requirement of having no IG punishments for 30 days gave every player an equal opportunity to prove they had improved and could behave properly. It focused more on a player’s recent behavior rather than mistakes they may have made years ago. In my opinion, that system motivated players to stay disciplined and active, while the current one simply blocks many experienced players permanently.
I understand that the intention of this rule is to give newer players a chance, and I respect that decision. I am also not trying to insult or attack Chief Administrator Abraham in any way. I simply want to give feedback and a recommendation that I genuinely believe would improve the server and help bring back many experienced players who have already quit because of this issue.
I believe leadership applications should focus more on a player’s current behavior, maturity, activity, and overall contribution to the community rather than only the total number of bans they may have accumulated over many years of playing.
Thank you for taking the time to read this complaint.
