We had an active hostage situation on the highway. The hostage was under our control, had his hands up, and the situation was already going and visible to the responding units.
The issue started when SAHP officers intervened and opened fire during the hostage situation. Their actions directly ruined the entire scenario and turned it into a chaotic shootout. Instead of preserving the hostage situation or prioritizing the hostage's safety, they escalated the situation and caused it to collapse completely.

During the shooting, the hostage repeatedly attempted to enter and exit the vehicle multiple times instead of following instructions and valuing his life. He would get into the vehicle, get out again, and continue doing so while shots were actively being fired around him.

After the hostage situation was ruined, the SAHP officers responsible for the shooting ran out of the scene. As a result, FIB units arrived afterward without understanding what had happened or what the original situation was.
