Meanwhile honest officers often risked their lives without receiving the recognition they deserved. Over time I began accepting small favors and payments in exchange for overlooking minor violations. What started as a few poor decisions gradually became a habit. Despite this I continued to improve my skills in investigations report writing suspect handling and field operations.
