Life Story:
Ricco Navarro was born in Valencia Spain. His parents divorced when he was still young and he stayed with his mother. As he got older he became harder to control. He got into trouble at school argued with teachers and spent more time outside than at home. His mother tried everything she could but after a few years she couldn’t handle his behaviour anymore. When Ricco was 15 she decided to send him to live with his father. His father lived in a poorer neighborhood where crime and drugs were a normal part of everyday life. Ricco thought things would get better but they only became worse. His father had a serious drinking problem and was drunk most evenings. They argued a lot and sometimes wouldn’t even speak to each other for days. Because of the neighborhood he lived in poverty. Ricco saw fights drug dealing and gang activity almost every day. He made friends with people who were already involved in that life and got himself into trouble more than once. Nothing serious enough to ruin his future but enough to understand how the streets worked and how money could change the way people acted. Living with his father forced Ricco to grow up quickly. He started making his own money and stopped expecting help from anyone. By the time he turned 22 he wanted to leave everything behind. He packed his things and moved to Los Santos hoping to build a better life and stay away from the life he had grown up around.
Career Story:
After arriving in Los Santos Ricco worked a few different jobs before joining the Los Santos Police Department. He wanted a stable job and felt like becoming a police officer would finally give him a chance to do something better with his life. In the beginning everything went well. He listened to his superiors followed the rules and always tried to do things the right way. After spending more time in the department he started noticing things that didn’t really make sense. Some officers made mistakes and nothing happened while others got punished for much less. He also noticed that certain criminals always seemed to find a way out of trouble no matter how many times they were arrested. At first Ricco ignored it because he thought it was just bad luck. The longer he stayed the more he realised it happened all the time. It slowly changed the way he looked at the department. Money and connections seemed to matter more than honesty and hard work. Ricco still enjoys being a police officer but he no longer believes everyone is treated the same. Over time he became more interested in looking after himself than believing the system would always reward people who followed every rule.
