Dear members of the administration,
Introduction
First and foremost I want to clarify right away that this is not a criticism of any members of the administration. My sole intention of my writing and posting here today is to make a plea to end my punishment. I have been waiting to submit this appeal request for two months now and I believe the time is now to express my extensive regrets towards all concerned parties.
The Background
About two months ago, on the eleventh of January this year, I was suddenly and without prehistory removed from the official Grand Roleplay discord server. Something which I only found out because a friend informed me that the administrator Mazhor replied to my more than a week old suggestion thread with just the word ‘blacklisted’ without any official explanation.
Later that day, I also noticed I am unable to log in to the game. Again, without a reason given with only a statement ‘blacklisted’, nine thousand nine hundred ninety nine days. Now what does someone need to do for that? A reasonable person would say something in the lines of hacking, consistent cheating, repetitive griefing and a history of violations of rules following up on each other. Well, I did nothing like that.
My Punishment History
Yes, like most people in the game, I have met with administrators in their role of rule enforcement. After all, by January I was already present in this game for about fifteen months. But who hasn’t gotten a traffic ticket or id search by real life police? Over the last few months before this ban all I got was being demorganed twice just for forgetting to remove a barricade as a law enforcement agent, which twice happened because I died during the event.
Plus, in over a year of spending play time in this city I got one more demorgan and warning during last spring for leaving the role play situation after an out of character emergency. Which as you can see, are three minor infractions to the project's game rules.
Never have I ever severely harmed, damaged or obstructed the roleplay or the gameplay in your project. I remember having a rough day in the city the day before with some minor incidents and by these surprising and sudden administrative actions I have never been able to come to a solution with them.
Constructive Contributions
In contrast, during my months of active participation in our city I have had the chance to help many less experienced players move forward through the legal sections of the game. In these regards I have also authored and edited new manuals for government secretaries and LSPD SWAT units which have been used for the coming terms under new leadership too. Next to that, some of my previous suggestions have been picked up by the developers and implementations have been made after my constructive feedback.
Apologies and Promises
I am truly and genuinely sorry if anyone feels harmed or offended in any way by my actions, behaviour or sayings and I want to stress that I have played and helped out well respected people in this game. This includes having built up a good reputation about respectfulness towards others and helping others and organizations out to improve. Like someone once said, it takes a lot to get me angry. Even people I competed against for a leadership spot took me into their high commands and ranks always with good results.
I cannot think other than that people enjoy having me around and like spending time with me, most of the time, because they know they can laugh with me and that I will treat them with the necessary respect they deserve and help them develop an even better version of their character. You may ask yourself why I say that but the reason is simple as I said above. Why else would they keep asking me back or act surprised, amazed or even upset when they hear I got blacklisted and what for?
Possible Causes for Misunderstanding
In an international community like ours, the native English speakers are a minority. Neither am I an English speaker, as my mother tongue is Dutch, with English being only my fourth language, and misinterpretations of language, especially written language, are quickly made. We need to keep in mind that people from different cultural backgrounds are present in this enjoyable gaming environment and actions and communications might not always be received as intended.
A Humble Request
I would like to underline the fact that I am honestly and fairly apologizing if anyone got offended for what I have said, have behaved as or acted in any way that may have hurt someone unintentionally or undeliberately. At this point my house and its belongings are already taken from me and I deeply believe that I have served the time that has been set out for me. Therefore I petition to lift this ban, in game as well as discord, so I can continue where I left off. It is at this point I also want to stress that I adhered to this blocking and did not continue playing on an alternative account despite the peer pressure to do so.
