Hello,
FIB received a verbal warning for one of our agents not being able to provide bodycam evidence of his arrest, which is completely justified and we respect the decision. Mike was kind enough to give us time to talk to our agent in order to try to obtain this footage, but the agent's response was as provided in the forum report. Due to a PC crash, his recording got corrupted and was not playable anymore.
We requested his bodycam in the agent's logs, and after he confirmed again he is unable to play the footage of his arrest on 26.01 around 18:30, we requested any footage of the last 48h prior to this arrest, which he provided (ammo run from 26.01 around 14:40). This indicated that he is actually recording situations, it is not definitive proof but it could mean that he was not lying about his recording getting corrupted. All this can be seen in his archived logs linked -> here.
I would only like to add that we take hiring interviews very rigurously, always check if agents are able to record properly and store the footage for 48h. Internal Affairs regularly requesst 5 minutes of footage from all agents to ensure proper functionality and adherence to the rules. This person, however, also left the organization after the incident, deciding it is easier for us to get a punishment instead of him.
Having a clean term is our #1 priority, reason for this appeal and hoping for your understanding with this situation.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
