He too was murdered. The terror was too much to handle, and the worst soon became real—her mother was killed. On her mother's corpse was a threatening message: "Sign the contract, or the bloodshed continues. "The pact required Laura to surrender all—her fortune—to some shadowy organization. Devastated to leave the murders in the past, she signed without hesitation. Only later did Laura discover the truth. Her whole nightmare was fabricated by none other than her own step-siblings, Ryder Hill and Ava Hill. Motivated by greed and jealousy, tearing her life apart piece by piece. She went on to rise through the ranks in a few months, reaching the long-envied rank of Major General one of the highest rank in SANG. With power now in her hand, her aspiration changed. She was no longer constrained by strict codes of right and wrong conduct, and she exploited the system for personal benefits through her newfound influence. She started selling highly classified information to underworld gangs and turned a blind eye to their criminal activities against massive sums of money. Torture of suspects became a standard way to gain information or induce terror, further cementing her control. In spite of the constant threat of discovery, she was untouchable, moving through the dangerous landscape of corruption with ruthless efficiency.
