Dakku King had no interest in a kingdom. There was nothing he wanted to rule. More than anything, he wanted a time of rest. A time his family could truly enjoy, free from the burden of finances, the disturbances of the night, or the constant dread of whether each day would surpass the previous one in difficulty. However, the kind of solace Ashmoor offers is extremely here. It is not nurturing, instead forcing you to do whatever it takes to survive. His mom was, without a doubt, the most resilient person he has encountered in life. Her shifts did not end until late, and she returned home with an aroma of stale coffee and grease. However, she still sat with him at night to help him through his homework. Even when it was completely justified, she didnβt whine. His dad Bodβ¦ sometimes he was useful, sometimes, not so much. When he was, which was not very often, it did not change the fact that the situation wasnβt healthy. In fact, it was better for him to not be around. Dakku loved his sister more than anything, and when he turned eleven, he began to miss school not because he was a carefree student, but because his sister needed support. She needed help with meals, guidance when she got frightened, and needed a look after. No one forced him into maturityβhe simply underwent adultification. Then there was the evening he will never forget. He was returning from the corner store, bag of milk and bread in hand, when he heard the gunfire. He dropped to the ground on reflex. When he raised his head, his best friend was lying there not breathing, not moving. Wrong place, wrong time. He ended up in the streets. Not because he was proud, not for being hard. but because there weren't a lot of doors open, and the ones that were didn't go anywhere good. He ran with local crews, did what he needed to do, tried to find somewhere he counted. But it never felt real. The allegiance only lasted when times got tough. Then people disappeared.
