I was working on a suspect at the LSPD. While booking the suspect, I gave him his Miranda rights three times. Throughout the whole time of transporting and processing the suspect, he deliberately decided not to ask for a lawyer.
The suspect asked for a lawyer only when I was processing him in the cell. In this case, everything had been processed, and I told him that since he chose not to ask for one while being interrogated/processing the rights, then he would need to ask after sentencing by subpoena.
I did not corrupt myself nor violated GR 6.4 because I adhered to the process after the suspect was given three chances to assert his right and chose not to do so.
